The project had a simple brief 'to design a hairdryer'. Based on predefined mood boards and aesthetics I had to design a unique hairdryer that reflects the chosen theme and has the capacity to work.
This project focused on the core skills of product design such as sketching, ideation and prototyping.
It was also collaborative in the sense, peers were encouraged to critique each other work throughout the process, and students to develop their designs based on that feedback.
Unique and organic shapes were tested using foam modelling.
As a part of the submission, I was required to 3D print a component of my design, and I decided to go ahead with the grill, as it was not only the focal point of my hairdryer but a challenge to print as a beginner in 3D Printing then.
